Khichdi ( Ayurvedic Poridge )

Preparation time:25 minutes Cooking time: 15 minutes  Makes  4 people

INGREDIENTS:  

2 cups of moong ( Green) Dal,

1 cup of rice,

9 cups of water,

Chopped mix green vegetables optional,

3 tsp of ghee,

½ tsp cumin seeds,

½ tsp mustered seeds,

½ tsp turmeric powder,

1/2 tsp biryani masala s

alt as per taste , Lemon juice)

Preparation

Soak lentils and rice in water for atleast 25 miniutes after wash and strain water.

Heat ghee in pan check with cuminseeds once it crackled put cumin seeds, musteredseeds and add all the vegitables. Put water and all the spices and cook in pressure cooker for 10 whistles, in case no pressure cooker cook them in a pot till they all become mixed well around 40 miniutes. Add lemon juice while serving.

Khichdi is ready.

FOR AYURVEDIC KHICHDI

Add soaked rice and lentils in pressure cooker with water, Add turmeric and salt and cook them till becomes mushy.

Add ghee later and eat with chutney
